If you’re in the U.S. and have cable, you most likely get the Lifetime network, which is known for hokey made-for-TV movies and the like. It’s stepping up it’s game trying to snag Project Runway (which as of now, isn’t happening) and it already has a Bravo-worthy reality TV series in “Blush.” It’s the search for this generation’s next great makeup artist, and it has some heavy hitters from the makeup world featured on a regular basis.
Here, we hear former head Victoria’s Secret makeup artist Charlie Green gab about the show.
If you’ve got Monday off, there’s a Project Runway 4 marathon airing all the live long day on Bravo. It’s the season with Sarah Jessica Parker as a guest judge and the birth of fierce! It’s also the season where Christian Siriano takes the cake, and he’s arguable the most talented designer to take the crown thus far.
I don’t know the back story to all of this, but apparently Denny gave Ruby the boot and told her that they would have married if it weren’t for her weight. Sounds like a real quality guy, eh?
Ruby is about three months into her makeover at this point, and Denny has decided to pop back into the picture. She describes him as the love of her life and says they were together for eight years.
It took Ruby three long years to get over him. I am hoping they do not get into things all over again. It will be a lot for Ruby to deal with, and also might put a damper on all of the headway she’s made. Ruby weighed 477 and she’s down 90 pounds in only six short months! I’m sure those six months didn’t seem so short to Ruby, but that is an amazing amount of weight to lose in that amount of time!
Her best friend Brittany is visiting from California. Brittany is gorgeous and a total sweetheart. She’s completely supportive of her best friend, and jokes that the last time she visited Ruby SHE was the one on the treadmill! There are two back-to-back episodes of Ruby airing tonight on the Style Network. I am so excited to see this show, and don’t forget that if Comcast is your cable provider in the States, you can catch Ruby OnDemand anytime you want.
Part of being home is vegging out and watching all of the craptastic reality television that our great networks have to offer. I’m catching on The Real Housewives of Orange County, an oldie but goodie. I noticed that on several occasions, Intermix, the awesome boutique, originally based in NYC, has made an appearance. Hm…are they in on this?
It seems no matter what show we see on Bravo, there’s a close-up shot of said restaurant, boutique or hotel, so does this mean that said places pay to be part of the mix? Intermix already has a strong following, with boutiques in Vegas, Miami, and of course, Manhattan, but do they need even more exposure?

I have yet to catch the show, and I’m so excited to see it! Readers are constantly stopping by to tell us how Ruby inspires them on a day-to-day basis and with the new year right around the corner, I think it will be a great way to gain some wise words from a sweet lady.
If you caught the Stylista finale, you know that it was semi-full of surprises. I was glad that Johanna took the cake, and even happier that we got to see Megan become a human being for once! Yeah, it was probably sucky to cry and throw a fit on national television, but it’s Megan we’re talking about here. Do we really care?
We know that there’s a lot of controversy going on right now regarding Rachel Zoe and her weight. Honestly, some of the pictures I’ve seen aren’t as bad as others, but I’m not sure what to believe. These were taken only about two weeks ago, so maybe with Golden Globe nods and awards season just around the corner, our favortie celeb stylist is stressing like mad and this is making her lose her appetite. This has been Rachel’s excuse for being so thin in the past few years.
Jennifer Connelly is definitely too thin these days (and has been since she appeared in those Balenciaga ads a few seasons ago), but Ellen Degeneres looks just fine! Maybe it was a slow news day for the site? What are your thoughts?
I have gotten a lot of emails regarding Taylor’s fab cross necklace on The Rachel Zoe Project. It seems to be a mainstay of Taylor’s jewelry wardrobe, and rightfully so. It’ subtle and cute, but still pops because it’s an unusual design. The real deal (which Taylor’s is) has diamonds and runs about 2k, but I’ve tracked down this cheaper fab alternative to Taylor’s cross necklace.

It’s $400 and is designed by Rebecca Lankford. This version has three raw diamonds and is far more affordable than Taylor’s for those of us not operating on a celeb stylist’s budget.
