I am so proud of this woman.
She is so brave to show this to the world.
She truly is an inspirtion and a beautiful woman.
People will except alcoholism and drug addiction
before the will believe that food addiction is a real problem for so many people.
I love the show and i am behind Ruby all the way.
    You go girl
    Love yourself .

I have been seeing previews for Ruby for several days and just happened to be home this morning to see her show. She motivated me to get up and spend some time on the treadmill while watching her.
I agree with Connie on the fact that society does not entertain the possibility that being overweight is not simply a matter of not being able to push yourself away from that piece of chocolate cake.
I am looking forward to following her journeyn-I wish her well.

I just plain like Ruby! She is the kind of person anyone would like. The overweight just takes a little longer to see it.

I will be watching. I weigh just under 300 lbs, and you can do my show next! I don’t have all the comforting friends, and such a good lifestyle, and I can’t walk as well. They found a good role model in her.

    Go For It!

I have enjoyed watching this beautiful woman tell her story of her struggle.
I would love to have a friend or sister like her in my life

Somebody named you right Ruby you are a gem!

Ruby is the type of woman that all men look for but that most miss because that are blinded by the outer body. She has a heart of gold and all she has ever wanted was for some one to love her for who she is, not what they see. If she wants to ride a harley well by God id give her mine and ahe could ride it when ever she wanted. Shes a specal lady and from what I have seen she deserves to be happy. Ruby if you read this please contact me your angle.

Hey Ruby… your’e an inspiration for a whole lot of people. I think that most overweight people are exactly like you on the inside, but because of how our society is, we have to put up this outer protective shell to defend ourselves and initially become someone we’re not. Oh, how I wish our world wasn’t so judgemental…it would make life a much better thing. I’ve struggled with my weight for a very long time and even at my thinnest the people who judged me for being overweight, just judge me for something else. I’ve gained weight back, but you have inspired me to do something about it. It’s time to stand up for ourselves and take back control of our lives. With you leading the way, I will follow.

    Ruby,
I hope you read this. I think that you are one of the most wanderfull people I would like to meet. There is so much going on in this world, that people can’t see past what we are suppose to be like. We are not all models and we all don’t wear size zero. I am friends with people that zero is to big to a sister that is around 500 pounds herself. What you are doing, is one wanderfull thing. I am so tired of everything on tv has to be perfect. We never see real people on there unless something wrong happens. I wish you all the luck in the world. I was watching your show when I came home from work and it was almost over, but I got to here you say the one thing that is the best start. I love myself. Your ex-boyfriend is really missing out. I have a friend who would love someone to share his life with. Again hes being judged by the outside. I think that this world needs a wake up call. I think the friends you have is a great thing to have in your life. I truely belive that you will do this and it will be done for you. You are in my prayers and in my heart. I hope that someday, I will have the wanderful gift of meeting you. You are a beatiful person with one of the greatest personalities I have ever seen. YOU CAN DO THIS RUBY. Just tell yourself that you no longer need the junk. And a little tip that helps me, I use a saucer when to eat. What is on that plate, is all I eat at each setting. And if I want a Dessert, I half to ask myself, do I really need that. If you want to talk please feel free to get in touch with me. I would love to be your friend.

    Ruby,

Hi my name is Kelly and I am a lot like you. I am 29 and weigh 345 standing at 5″6. I take 8 different pills a day and 11 a day total. I have panic attacks, high blood pressure, and low pottasium. My doctor says all of this is a direct result of my weight problem. I know how you fill like you I have always been heavy. I see and understand all of your daily stuggles. My heart goes out to you I think you are an amazing woman and brave for sharing your story with the world. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you achieve your goal as much as I hope I achieve mine. Maybe 2009 will be our year with every new diet I start I have to find a new form of inspiration since the past one didn’t work and this time you are the one who inspires me. No pressure. ha ha No really good luck and I hope to see you do well and if I do I will let you know. Maybe we could be each others motivation. Well hope to see less of you in a good way. ruby- I thank you for sharing your struggle, with weight, for others to learn and draw hope. This problem is reaching terrifying numbers in our country. All ages, races, and genders. Never give up, if we don’t get up when we fall then we will always be down. I’ll be praying for you and your freinds to be healthy, loving support to you.

Hello Ruby. This is the first time I have ever written a “celebrity”. I just wanted to tell you that I am going to support you in your journey..I will think of you daily and began my struggle to lose weigh too. In the past I have searched for a man who would appreciate my curves. There are so many singles groups that are for “chubby chasers”.But I was told I am too thin..LOL I am too fat to be thin and too thin to be fat. I wear an extra large top and a 12 bottom. I am only 5.2 and I weigh 180. I don’t eat much during the day..but at night I binge. I tried vomiting the other night but couldn’t do it…I am tired of people saying “you have such a pretty face..”

anyways I just wnted to add myself to the list of well wishers…You go girl!

Anita- Please do not resort to vomiting for anything unless it’s a natural reflex for your body. If you are having weight/image issues, please call the Natural Eating Disorder Hotline at 1-800-248-3285 if you need someone to discuss these things with.

Feel confident about who you are, inside and out. Do not bother with dating groups, and do not feel that your self-worth is justified by being in a relationship with another person. Only YOU can do that for yourself.

    Aloha Ruby,

I wanted to let you know that you have motivated me to get up and get active. I applaud you for addressing all your problems, because the weight believe it or not is the least of your problems. I know you can loose it and more so work out the emotional and mental kinks :) You will one day be on Oprah & all the other shows. You are truely one of a kind, a gentle, honest, genuine beauty. Your attitude and outlook on life will take you much farther in life than your looks. God Bless you and you have many friends in Hawaii. When you loose the weight come and hang loose w/ the hawaiians and show us some of that great southern hospitality & well share plenty of aloha w/ you!

Ruby, you are true to your name - a real
    jewel!
I love your smooth and patient voice coupled with the realization that you must succeed this time to save your life.
I look forward to watching each episode. I hurt for you when those people were so rude at the beach. I hope this helps people to see how hurtful their words/actions can be to others.

I’m so glad people are stopping by to send great thoughts to Ruby. She’s a real sweetheart, and while I’m sure being on TV isn’t easy, she does it with grace.

Ruby, I am in the Army been in for almost 10 years and have been struggling to make weight the whole time, I am 40pounds over the Army standard. I run everyday to to maintain the weight I am at now. I just can’t seem to lose any at all. If I wasn’t in the Army running and evxercising all the time I would be twice as big as I am now. I been overseas fighting this war and if I don’t make weight the are going to discharge me for my weight. I been told I am an excellent Soldier and great NCO, but the weight has to go or I have to go. I try real hard but I love food, and I just can’t seem to stick to the healthy foods. Then when I eat, I run and run, until i can’t, and feel so bad because I know I have to lose it not just for me but my family because the Army is how I support my family. I just caught your show Sunday night, not being able to sleep I was flipping through the channels and just happened to stop on your show. I watched you show back to back. I think you are amazing, and you two friends are just as amazing. I will continue to watch your show and will be praying for you. As for that @ss in the orange cap making fun of you on the beach, your ex should have stomped him in the ground, people have no idea how hard it is to do what you are doing, just keep it up, always for yourself, you’ll find that one special one that will love you for you. Again I will be praying for you.

    Very Respectfully,

    Michael

Isn’t that torture watching your friends eat pizza! Why go your favorite pizza parlor just to see everyone else indulge? I guess it makes good TV If I had been there I would have had to order a salad to eat with Ruby to show support.

Hey Ruby, I’m glad you decided to change the way you think which is the most important thing to do in the process. The mind controls the body so training the brain to respond under normal circumstances provides temptation but the heart controls the mind. Stay true to your commitment and give” results”, not “excuses”,,..

Ruby is an inspiration for anyone going “through the fire”! There are so many of us exactly like Ruby! I thoroughly enjoy this program which I watch with my daughter who also has weight issues. Like Ruby, she is a beautiful and wonderful person who is intelligent and loving. I would like to suggest that you continue this series. It is wonderful!
