SS 09 beauty trend: big, soft hair
Does big hair ever really go away? I’m a fan of it, no matter what the season, but that may be the Texan in me. Sure, I can appreciate a sleek bob (my sister wears it oh-so-well), but for me, it’s almost always a soft, touchable head of hair that screams sexy. This seems to be the school of thought for SS 09, as well. Last week, models paraded down the runway with big, soft hair that is as easy to achieve as it is to take a long nap. Use a smoothing serum to keep hair shiny (yes, we want it big, but this doesn’t mean we want frizz), and then coil hair into a bun. The results will be long, loose waves with plenty of volume at the root.
Now we’re showing off this trend about six months prior to the time it hits mainstream beauty trends, so use this time to perfect it. During the cooler fall and winter months, big hair is a great way to add a feminine edge to chunky cardigans and tweeds.
